Odd use of "nation state", but the point is made, eff-ewe to the feds. We do not get much of the headlines in Massachusetts, but have been made to bid against the feds for masks and ventilators, all the while some are being shipped overseas, we are about as bad off with the virus as any state, just smaller in size. A few days ago, we climbed to the 5th state in total cases, right behind California, who has 6 times out population.
As one of the original colonies/states, it'd be tough to secede, but maybe we ought to kick a few states out, and keep California. The east is getting screwed.
Kudos to Mayor London Breed of San Francisco. Not all the credit goes to Gavin Newsome.
Civics test? I'd back Gavin Newsom--heck, I'd back the eight-year-old across the street in a Constitution trivia contest against the president.
ReplyDeleteAs for what Newsom has done, I perceive a lot of sass and nothing that can be construed as illegal.
California is not a nation state. It is a part of the union that is the United States. Check out nullification and secession.
ReplyDeleteI do understand that, but I count the expression as sass, not as proposed doctrine.
DeleteWell, I guess that makes John C. Calhoun one of the grand masters of sass. Of course, one man's sass is another man's grandstanding.

There are those who think the east is screwing the rest. Let's have another civil war.
