I've got to hunker down with Anne Rice's new novel tonight, so I can ask her some intelligent questions Tuesday afternoon. And I got home late, so not much in the way of a post tonight. But one little note: Borrowed from my colleague David Stearns today a collection of CDs called
The Sammy Davis Jr. Story. I borrowed it because I found it included the studio version of Davis singing the Anthony Newley/Leslie Bricusse song "What Kind of Fool Am I?" from
Stop the World I Want to Get Off. It's the best version of it that anyone has ever done. And there is much else besides by a guy who, in addition to having some the greatest pipes ever, was just spectacularly talented.
