There is this bit of truth in advertising, though: "I'd like to send you, on behalf of our publisher (a staunch Dem) ..." It would be nice if Sourcebooks were that open to all of its prospective customers, not just those it thinks it can safely admit this to. Though I know from experience that many publicists simply assume that if their book espouses a liberal nostrum I, as a book editor, will necessarily be sympathetic to it. But I do not like people assuming how I think, however.
