Ottawa's Carleton U Student Helps Discover Largest Known Prime Number

The process took 16 days for a supercomputer to run the numbers; but, "working with an international team, Carleton University's Mr. [Jeff] Gilchrist has helped to discover the largest known prime number, at a whopping 12.9 million digits."
