It always hurts when you lose a favorite writer, but this one is more difficult than many, for the simple reason that Westlake was still so completely engaged with and interested in his craft. I simply assumed that there would be more Parker novels, because I knew that Westlake had more stories to tell. A sad day, but at the same time, what a legacy to leave.
