The Associated Press has just put up a report. I've contacted the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, and the Guardian with this, but there's yet to be a story on this major loss. If this doesn't demonstrate why newspapers don't get it, I don't know what does.
It also has something to do with Markson being a genuine person, a real writer, rather than one of those tireless self-promoters. I realize I'm assuming a lot there, since I didn't know the man. Yet everything I'm reading now is giving me the sense that this was a modest, genuine person. Deserving of everything, now more than ever.
