It seems to me that M-theory is simply a conditional proposition: If there are multiple universes, then there need be no creator. But there is no evidence for the postulated multiple universes. So all they are saying is that it is theoretically possible that God does not exist. Not exactly evidence-based reasoning, however.
In chaos theory, it's well-established by now that order is an emergent property. Systems can and do self-organize, after obtaining certain levels of complexity and sophistication.
ReplyDeleteA self-organizing system doesn't require a Creator, but it doesn't disprove a principal underlying the emergent properties of orderly self-organization. If self-organization is a consequence of underlying physical laws, does that make a Creator unnecessary, or merely more-than-ever deeply buried as a First Principal?
It's still an open question.
Systems can self-organize by virtue of the interaction of their constituents. But the constituents have to come into being before they can interact. And the self-organization of systems doesn't seem to me to explain that. Nor does merely positing multiple universes.It seems to me you have to have some evidence for multiple universes, not simply say, well, if there are multiple universes, then ... Well, if there are unicorns, then ... If we had wings ...
