Last night, Debbie and I went to see the Philadelphia Orchestra perform Handel's
Messiah. The conductor was Jane Glover, and the orchestra was reduced to a minimum: strings, two oboes, two trumpets, bassoon, timpani, organ, and harpsichord. We both thought the performance was outstanding. I was so impressed with Glover that I just downloaded a Mozart recording of hers from the iTunes store. I'm listening to the overture
The Marriage of Figaro, and it's a s good as I suspected it might be.
