In Bombay...

...I have been in Bombay all this week tying up an accommodation for April onwards when I move to this great city to begin work. Why should you be interested? Because yesterday, I picked up two new books on Bombay, Katherine Boo's Behind the Beautiful Forevers (a study about, again, a Mumbai slum) and Jeet Thayil's Narcopolis (fiction on the Bombay drug scene). Both books have received positive reviews here. Boo's book is already out in the US while Thayil's will be in April.
