Some of the commenters sound a bit odd, too. Remember the end of the first Death Wish film? Charles Bronson points his finger at some goons as if he were aiming a gun at them. Well, wouldn't it be an ever better ending if some security guard came up and arrested Charles? A finger is a finger is a finger. Forbidding gestures, drawing no distinction between a butter knife and a hunting knife — this is stupid. You can't regulate your way to safety, and you certainly can't micromanage your way there. Basically, this is bureaucratic grandstanding. A good reason to start letting your kids stay home and learn online.
