Several years ago the letters column of the New York Times Book review published a brief, pointed letter from Ned Rorem abusing a couple of books on Bob Dylan just reviewed there. The letter itself was hard enough on Dylan, and on the authors and reviewer for taking him so seriously. But mostly I remember it for the headline, "Positively Fourth Rate".
