A thought and a talk

It is sad how everything has turned into sex in the Catholic Church, which is exactly the opposite of its professed intent.

Mercy is the Pope's personal motto and Christ kicked no one out -- for anything -- from His Church. Being LGBT is about being a child of God first. Sex is part of LGBT people, just like every other child of God. But it isn't all of us or any of us that I know, just like it isn't with any person.

But sex is all we get reduced to in the Church -- a sex act -- that the Church labels as wrong and bans us.

But we aren't just a sex act. We are people first, children of God and deserving of being welcomed in Her Church as having full dignity and humanity. To mock us by presuming that our God-Given life is only about sex -- knowing nothing about what each of do -- is wrong.

My interview on WHYY's Radio Times with Marty Moss-Coane is here for the talk part of the headline:  Three Perspectives on the Catholic Church & Pope Francis’ Visit to the US
