i don’t think it is possible for the demons to wholly sever our connection with the gods; though they are certainly trying and have thus far succeeded, by installing people like Theresa May, Angela Merkel, “Pope” Francis in order to destroy what remains of the traditional European religions and races.
If this blogger were a church-going father of a family, taking an active part in civil society, I could read his lectures on the decline of the west with a better temper. As it is, I find it hard to say what attaches him to his view of the way things were or at least should have been, and should still be. Aesthetic offense at immigrants and chavs, and the vernacular Vatican II order of the Mass?
ReplyDeleteAh, George, this must be your introduction to Elberry. He wrote a very good novel called The Better Maker. But he is, shall we say, sui generis.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days, I shall look for the novel. It is not my introduction to Elberry. As I say, I find it hard to read him with patience. There may be insights to be had, but I find the signal-to-noise ratio low, and the noise notably irritating.
