Follow the Good Gray Poet as he rides the ferries and explores the wharves on the Delaware River, sits and chats with friends on stoops in Germantown, shops at Wanamaker's, takes in the passing scene at 2nd and Market Streets, lectures at the city's small literary clubs, battles poet competitor Bayard Taylor, attempts to cross the frozen Delaware on foot, and waxes poetic about the Academy of Music and the construction of Philadelphia City Hall.,
