The other number of interest is the official coronadoom death total, which as of Sunday night is 167,558. Math is easy: 167,558 * 0.06 = 10,054. Rounded up, to be fair.
The remaining 157,504 died of other things—an average 2.6 other things!—with the presence of coronadoom. Some fraction of these poor people, considering false positives, died of just other things.
This is a misinterpretation of the count, which stems from a misunderstanding of how coroners are filling out the certificates of death.
ReplyDeleteLet's say we had a serial killer, who was throwing people off the roof of a house. We know that they all died by the fall, so the coroner would rightly indicate that a victims died by falling. However, death certificates may indicate that ribs went through hearts in some and brains got crushed in others. The fall killed them all.
This is the same with Covid-19. The problem is with the 0.06. The coroners did not fully fill out those death certificates, to say that there were respiratory problems or what have you, that killed the victim. The only explanation for the over 200,000 excess deaths this year, is Covid-19, which surely belongs as a cause of death, as it is the catalyst, the push off the roof as it were.
This misread seems to have become popular to share, because Blake Shelton bought into it.
