Fir the last weeks of the 1964 campaign I was Eastern Pennsylvania Chairman of Youth for Goldwater. I now live only a few blocks away from where Lyndon Johnson declared that he was not going to send American boys to fight a war that Asian boys should be fighting. We all know how that turned out. I continue to think that Gokdwater would have followed the advice of Eisenhower and MacArthur and not got involved in a land war in Asia. But of course Johnson had never served in WWII.
