    It's an interesting argument of delineation, do what Jesus said or what culture needs. The latter is a staid religion that could become inapplicable. We need to find the "spirit" in the scripture, which is part of being born from above. On the other hand, we could go overboard and become faddish, a religion that changes based on the whims of the decades. But the question becomes important, that God isn't really a "guy" as we know them, per se.

    But then we have always had the delineation of Mother Earth versus Father God, almost as representations or tropes.

    On the matter of marriage of LGBTQIA+ people. I still contend that marriage is none of the state's business, but whatever church you belong to. So I supported civil unions for all, as far as the state is concerned. Then get married in your church if you choose. That said, I bend a bit off that stance nowadays knowing that all people can dream of marriage and a wedding day.
