. In the 1930s, Britain's Nonesuch Press brought out what is widely considered to be the defintive edition of Dickens. Last year, Nonesuch Press was acquired by Overlook Press. Overlook's John Mark Boling informs me that books from the 1930s edition go for upwards of $30,000 on the collectors' market. Which is why it's nice to know that Overlook-- in partnership with Barnes & Noble -- has printed
replicas of that edition. So if you want one, you don't have get a second mortgage to have one.
