That's a brilliant evaluation of Hemingway and shows him for what he was - a flawed genius, but a genius nonetheless. I regularly re-read "A Farewell To Arms", it's one of my favourite novels. As a result of this article I'll have another look at his work, except maybe "For Whom The Bell Tolls", which I've never liked even though I idolised Hemingway when I was a young man.
