I think I've met my quota this year ...

... having reviewed both War and Peace and The Three Musketeers, which together added up to more than 2,200 pages: A Doozy of A Reading Challenge for 2007.

Update: I should have added that I think Amy will enjoy The Virgin in the Garden. Then she can move on to Still Life, Babel Tower, and A Whistling Woman.

  1. As far as I'm concerned, any fiction novel that's under 500 pages is depressingly short. This is my kind of challenge.

  2. You just wait, Christine, until you have to read and review a book a week - in addition to mucho other duties!

Hope Amy likes Galsworthy. If it turns out she doesn't, she's gonna have a rotten spring.

Nineteenth-century novels are definitely the way to go for chunksters. Doorstops, more like. Of course, the British authors were writing their novels for periodicals first and getting paid by the word. They'd doubtless have been very different novels, otherwise! Indeed, "Dickensian" might have had some other meaning had it been otherwise.
