No quarrel with any on the list, many of which I have read. But as with any list, we all think someone else should have been squeezed on. I can think of several, but one I think is most unfortunately overlooked is Maragaret Millar (nee Sturm), wife of Ross Macdonald (ne Millar), most of whose novels can stand comparison with those of any crime writer, let alone Macdonald's.
