Terry's comments also made me think about the smugness of so much public rhetoric these days: the de facto assumption of opinions presented in ways that imply they are not to be questioned. As Murray seems to do. And the bashing of those who DO question. It's shocking to live in a time when the simple free speech of disagreement is attacked simply for disagreeing. I'm not sure that the blogosphere doesn't aggravate this tendency, at least in some instances.
