The knives are out again. Poor Steinbeck. He will always be the figurative pig to carve at the feast of the critic's. I'm reminded of Faulkner's observation that fiction is truer than the best journalism. And what I read today was not the best journalism.
I link, you decide, Lincoln. As it happens, I agree with you. Steinbeck wrote beautifully -- I don't care what others say. But for some reason, he pisses off the intelligentsia (those who, as Bishop Sheen said, have been educated beyond their intelligence. God, there's a lot of them.)
Believe me, Frank, when you post a link I do not assume it represents your belief or feeling. You would require multiple personalities if that were so. I think I said once before that your site is the UTNE of the internet. I hope that is taken as a complimentary statement by everyone who reads this.
