Maxine's post is utter sanctimonious nonsense: the kind of judgmental crap I expect from latte-drinking affluent elitists who sneer down on anyone who makes them even vaguely uncomfortable. To apply her bullshit rules to real-life social situations reveals how unadventurous and discriminating she truly is. The suggestion that those who are profane or who commit fallible actions aren't "human beings" is the kind of imperialist drivel I expect from an entitled Goldman Sachs investment banker or a conquistador who sips his coffee while ignoring the fact that those who pick the beans are humans too. I understand advocating courtesy, but if it comes at the cost of human essence, then it's no different from any other mindless ideology. I can't believe, Frank, that you -- an ostensible anarchist and humanist -- would get behind Maxine's needlessly judgmental post.
Actually, Ed, I only linked to it. I can't say that I agree with it, if only because my involvement with Twitter is minimalist. I did figure that others who knew more than I might take issue with it. And I was right!

ReplyDeleteFair enough, Frank. Apologies for drawing any false conclusions from your link. Thanks.
