Writing is a job, for which you presumably have some talent, which you develop through experience. There's a sort of pretentiousness underlying articles like this. Writers, painters, composers are just people like everybody else.There's nothing special about them. Just imagine a world with only artists and no plumbers. If you pursue an art because you think doing so makes you better than others, find something else to do.
