The most recent edition of History Today includes a number of interesting titles. Upcoming volumes that are reviewed include:
- Historically Inevitable? Turning Points of the Russian Revolution -- I'm always attracted to works that evaluate the idea of historical "inevitability"
- Churchill and the Dardanelles -- Churchill's role in the First World War and the impact this role would have in the Second
Several other titles are referenced in the course of this edition's essays. They look equally interesting:
- Language and Society in the Greek and Roman Worlds -- the emergence of Latin as the dominant language of the Roman Empire (and the languages that died along the way)
- Louis: The French Prince Who Invaded England -- the Battle of Sandwich and the politics of 13th-century England
