Hmm …

… Informal Inquiries (2nd edition): "The Fear of God" by Robert Frost.

As I recall, it is somewhat misleading to speak of "fear of the Lord." The word translated as fear means something more nearly like "awestruck." Rudolf Otto, in The Idea of the Holy, says that the foundation of religious phenomenology is a mysterium tremendens et fascinans, an experience of a Presence wholly other who overwhelms and attracts at one and the same time.
