I just did a search of the page and couldn't find "mentee," though the word can be found in Merriam-Webster ("one who is being mentored : protégé nearly all the mentees opted to remain in the sciences"). I does strike me as something of a barbarism. But I'm old.
The Chronicle of Higher Education appears to believe that there is such a word as "mentee". That diminishes its authority in my eyes.
