Turn Me On, Flowers
Turn me on sun, turn me on flowers,
Intercept a message to the God of love.
The flowers worship with color and light.
Stand between them and God to feel happy.
Remember the rejection of the older girls-
Running in tears to the rose garden.
They were as tall as me at the time.
Amid the maze, I discovered the Mother Mary.
And maybe God is in each flower.
I try to find the center of the rose...
a gesture that arouses reverence.
Be one with love's quintessence.
Go on a quest for the holy grail,
And find it among the magnolia blossoms.
This is the latest poem by my daughter, Jennifer Knox.
