What's in a review?

Conventional Reading posts a discussion of a review of a review. Follow the link to get the full context. My own view on the subject of reviews is strictly phenomenological: If I can accurately and precisely describe what I have read, my reader will know full well what I feel about what I've read. In other words, the subject of a review is the book-reader relationship.

  1. I agree wholeheartedly!

I can also tell after reading repeated reviews by particular reviewers whether they like the same kind of books that I do, which helps in deciphering the review!

  2. Frank, off the subject of your original post, but ... A very Merry Christmas to you and yours, and best wishes for a Happy New Year ... from your friend 'out west' ... Jeff

  3. Hi Bonnie,
Me too -- which ends up saving me some time, I might add.

  4. Hi Jeff:
Merry Christmas to you and your family also. And a blessed New Year!
