Since I've been on ...

... a Philly-boosting kick, it seems only meet and just, right and availing unto salvation to submit for your approval (bet you've never seen those phrases conjoined) Rocky Stories: Tales of Love, Hope, and Happiness at America's Most Famous Steps by my colleagues Michael Vitez and Tom Gralish.

Here's a slide show to go with it.

  1. Hi Frank,

The day before Christmas, I saw Rocky Balboa with my son in Bridgewater State College. Before that, I hadn't gone to the movies in years. But I got a gift certificate in a Christmas drawing. Turns out, I went to the wrong cinema, and so I paid and gave the gift certificate to my son.

What a terrific movie. In the end, with the credits, it shows people on the steps.

Slide #6 of the slide show link you provided has this as a caption:

People are always happy at the steps. Running up and celebrating at the top offers a tonic to the world's problems, if only for a moment.

How many places in the world are like this? That's extraordinary. It's great even to take note of, knowing there's a place like this.
