    It's so stupid. "Let's publish a book about a cartoon controversy, but not actually show the controversial cartoon! Brilliant!"

    Yeah, it males ypu wonder what they were thinking when they agreed to publish the book in the first place. Let's publish a book about erotic art - of course, it can't be illustrated.
