I get Geoffrey's point, and I agree with. That said, poetry is about poetry, not democracy.
(I call him Geoffrey because we spoke to each other on a first-name basis when I introduced him at the 92d Street Y some years ago, but mostly because we are both sons of policemen and, as he said that night, "It is a brotherhood, isn't it?")
