Probably not ...

... Do typewriters hold the keys to fine writing? (Hat tip, Paul Davis.)

After all, some pretty fine writing was done before the invention of the typewriter. May we should all get some parchment and take up our quills.

  1. Harlan Ellison still uses a manual Olympia. he has several backups on his shelves, and a collection of unused ribbons.

    I'm all for old tech. I love the history of tech. I can use a quill pen and parchment, a typewriter, and a laptop. For me, they're all about the same. One form of tech doesn't make it easier to write than another.

    i think this is more about habits than anything else. Tech is tech. It's what we put into it, and invest in it, and believe about it, that matters.

    I wish I could send this as a handwritten note, though. :)
