I tried the paleo diet for a few months last year. What I got out of it is that I eat less, and I particularly like taking a long and vigorous walk on a mostly empty stomach. But as for what I eat, I have found that I feel better eating variations on the food I grew up on - soups and stews, the occasional roast chicken. A small amount of good bread, a good cheese, and some fresh fruit, I find, will carry though to dinner after that long walk. Debbie likes fish, so we have that at least a couple of times a week. But I feel no need to ape how we imagine our pre-agricultural ancestors chowed down.
