  1. What about pornography, both literary and otherwise? Do we want no legal limits on publishing select moral issues? I have a hard time supporting that.

  2. Many years ago, I was at a meeting chaired by William F. Buckley Jr., at which the question of obscene books came up. Buckley's view was that the fundamental principals of American conservatism had to do with individual freedom and that one of the most fundamental individual freedoms was the right to read what you wanted. I have no taste for pornography myself and there are obviously some sorts which are and ought to be illegal. But beyond that I'm willing to let those who want it to have it.
