What is this "yugoslav" you speak of? No such thing, one could argue there never was it was as it was a pathetic attempt at creating an artificial nation. The author was a Croatian living in Bosnia, then the Ottoman Empire, before the idea of yugoslavia even existed.
Assuming you are asking about the Croatian Legacy, he is still studied in Croatia and Bosnia, as well was Croatian and Bosnian literature classes around the world. He continues to be considered one of Bosnia's greatest Croatian writers.
Very stupid comment! There is Yugoslav legacy and no matter how hard you and people like you try not to give it a credit it exists. The idea of unity between Serbs and Croats (who actually produced Yugoslavia)is much older than Yugoslavia itself. So there must be cultural legacy since both of these nation speak same language, and also the fact is tha Ivo Andric was Serbian who was born in Bosnia and was a catholic. It is very racist idea make him a Croatian writer since he was a truly Yugoslav writer na so were many other Croatians, Serbs, Muslims, Macedonians, Slovenians and Montenegrins, as well as other nation writers who lived and wrote about a country called Yugoslavia.
