... you can still see it right here: Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing" Ruled Too Offensive In Canada. Pathetic. The song's only been around for a quarter-century.

  1. Much like the Twain thing -- a classic case of people not getting what's going on. Knopfler adopts the voice of a lunkhead who thinks being a musician is no work. It is the character who refers to gays offensively and women (and musicians, for that matter)with disrespect, not Knopfler. It's a satire. Amazingly, even MTV used to run a censored version of it,despite the fact that the video made the satire more than clear. Absurd.
