  1. I've believed for some time that all of Hemingway's best writing is in his shorter forms. "The Nick Adams Stories" is a personal favorite, for example. And I agree about "In Our Time."

  3. I like Hemingway's novels, but I prefer his short stories.

    The short stories are like a short right knockout punch, whereas his novels are a 12-round bout.

    "The Killers" and "The Battler" are two favorites short stories, and I reread them and other Hemingway short stories ever couple of years.
