The people objecting to this would be hailing him if he had portrayed someone trampling on the Bible -- freedom of expression, and all that. Actually, as didactic art goes -- and I'm not much of a fan -- it's not all that bad. Or should I say I've seen a lot worse?

Why am I not surprised that only one President is shown trampling on the Constitution?
ReplyDeleteBut then, maybe I am mis-reading it. Perhaps Madison is saying "Here, it's your turn."
But had this fellow so depicted our previous President, he would doubtless have been acclaimed for speaking truth to power.
