It's worth remembering, too, that Brother Lawrence and other simple, saintly souls have often gone about talking to God as if He were their invisible friend. Indeed, one fellow who seems to have known what he was talking about suggested that "except … ye become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."
