Hmm …

… Why reality holds little love for poets | The Book Haven.

I am more sympathetic to despair than I am to depression, which has always struck me as a form of self-indulgence, but for me, incorrigible Catholic that I am, despair remains one of the two unforgivable sins (the other is presumption, and they are unforgivable because, by their nature, they can never ask for forgiveness). That said, despair seems the greater temptation, as ever-present as the inevitability of death.
