I certainly hope not …

… Is Classical Music Dead? — The Dabbler.

I don't think people like Henze or Carter did it any favors. I once, for several weeks, listened to a Carter quartet every day. I never warmed to any of them. Lest you think this reflects some sort of aesthetic parochialism, be it known that I think Bartok's quartets are the 20th century's answer to Beethoven's symphonies.
