Sail away …

… At Sea. (Hat tip, Dave Lull.)

A somewhat different Masefield poem: 'Cargoes'.

  1. Wasn't Masefield about like Robert Service, both getting away early from their subject matter?

The one bit of verse I remember having to memorize in high school was the first poem. I neglected to practice, but happened to sit where I could pick it up from my classmates. The one line of Masefield, read young, that sticks with me is the last one of "Spanish Waters":

By the loud surf of Los Muertos which is beating in my ears.
