Sounds pretty much like what I was taught in all the Catholic schools I attended. Also, the author might want to learn something about Evangelicals (I am guessing he thinks they take the Bible literally and think the Earth was created 5,000 years ago). Francis Collins, the director of the National Institutes of Health, is an Evangelical.  He is also quite well-informed about science.
