DUAL BOOK-SIGNING JUNE 9 IN THE HEART OF UNIVERSITY CITY: Philadelphia Inquirer Columnist Clark DeLeon (Pennsylvania Curiosities) And Kevin Purcell (Philly War Zone)
Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Clark DeLeon has invited me to join him for a dual book-signing. Clark’s new book, Pennsylvania Curiosities, is packed with intriguing and unusual stories from all over the state, each told in Clark’s unique style.
The book-signing is Sunday, June 9th from 3-6 at the old Track & Turf Bar, now the Millcreek Tavern, which is owned by MBS and West Catholic’63 grad Jack Gillespie, who expanded the bar out to the corner of 42nd and Chester Avenue. (Google “Millcreek Tavern” to see how different the old Track & Turf looks now.) Tall windows expose the friendly collegiate surroundings, just minutes from the University Avenue exit of the Expressway.
Clark DeLeon and Jack Gillespie know each other well since Clark lives just walking distance from the Millcreek. Clark’s lived at 45th and Regent Street for the past 27 years. SW Philly icon Larry Hackett (WC ’56) will be behind the bar starting at 4:30. Stop in for a drink!
