Quod experientia docet …

I don't see that belief has any necessary bearing on experience. You experience what you experience and that experience can be understood only in terms of itself. You may, I suppose, choose to build a belief on a given experience, though I don't see that you need to, and I would advise against it.
Sam Harris doesn't seem to realize how peculiar it is to assert that in deep meditation you can learn that your self does not exist. Who is doing the learning? About what?
