In search of the incomprehensible …

Dwight Eisenhower wrote this to Mamie Eisenhower on April 15, 1945: "The other day I visited a German internment camp. I never dreamed that such cruelty, bestiality, and savagery could really exist in this world! It was horrible."
He would be appalled by latter-day anti-Semitism, as every decent person ought to be.
