  1. Well, if stories are true, Simenon spent a great deal of his time (when not writing massive numbers of books) in pursuit of and in the company of amorous damsels. In fact, he layed claim to astronomical numbers of sex partners. (No pun is intended by the predicate within the foregoing sentence.)
