God help us…

May You Live in Interesting Times (Redux) | PJ Media.

I doubt that Powerline’s John Hinderaker has a more avid fan than me, but I think his column this weekend, “For Once, I am On Trump’s Side,” misses this dimension of the malevolence that is Donald Trump. … What about that Trump supporter, mentioned above, who assaulted a protestor and then said, “Next time we might have to kill him”?What about the current of exhortations to violence that course, obligato-like, through Trump’s rhetoric? … I think Trump bears a great deal of responsibility for the character of his rallies. As Andy McCarthy put it in his NRO column yesterday, “It is ludicrous to argue that, because the hard Left is primarily responsible for the outbreak of chaos and violence that caused Donald Trump’s Chicago rally to be canceled last night, it is wrong to condemn the thuggery Trump often encourages at his appearances.”
Just so everyone knows we try to look at all sides of a matter here. My own view is that there's plenty of blame to go around.

  1. I have to agree. There's no doubt Trump encouraged violence in his supporters. There's no doubt the left is willing to go there to suppress if (most of the times they don't have to).

The combination of the two is a volatile combination.

The only difference is that the left isn't running for president. Trump is; and his leadership rule is to encourage it.
